As times change and society progresses, we see the best and worst in people, and how working together really can benefit us all. Amidst troubling news stories and scary shifts in politics, here at Centre Front, we have taken great pride in how social stigmas are slowly becoming a thing of the past. In lieu of this, we want to take a moment to discuss mental health with you.

Today, in the UK alone, at least 1 in 4 people experience mental health problems every year, with 1 in 6 people reporting common mental health problems such as depression or anxiety. While it’s evident that awareness and professional treatment of mental health is steadily rising, it still isn’t enough.

Only in the last few years have we begun to see mental health issues be taken more seriously in both the medical industry and in society, with many dedicated services and charities now offering advice and one-to-one services. With its inclusion in contemporary media, including major television programmes, films, and even music, these issues are finally started to get the exposure they need.

Unfortunately, for many, the social stigma surrounding mental health problems such as anxiety, depression, OCD, phobias and panic attacks still exists. We are still a long way from where we need to be regarding awareness and treatment, but together we can help change that. We need your help.

Here at Centre Front, we now actively support CALM – Campaign Against Living Miserably. We have teamed up with CALM and will be donating 10% of each sale towards their cause. This is a great cause dedicated to preventing male suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK. If you know of anybody currently dealing with mental health problems, please recommend CALM. They offer support to men in the UK, of any age, who are down or in crisis via their helpline, webchat and website.
